Welcome to the Northeast Tennessee Chapter (#190) of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Our Chapter supports the national SHRM mission: Serve the Professional and Advance the Profession! How? Read on …

Serve the Professional: We are an active local resource available for HR professionals to contact with various HR needs. Networking with other HR professionals that you will come in contact with as a member of our Chapter allows you opportunities to share and receive policy advice and best practices, discuss hot issues, research current trends, etc.

Advance the Profession: Each Chapter member is invited and encouraged to attend monthly meetings that are intended to enhance professional development. Much effort goes toward planning these monthly meetings to ensure that topics are timely and speakers are dynamic.

We welcome you to visit one of our meetings! Take a look at the list of upcoming Chapter meetings and send your RSVP to me if you find one you wish to attend. Based on what you see/learn at the meeting, it would be great if you decide to join our Chapter!

Northeast Tennessee Chapter of SHRM proudly supports the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve

SHRM is focusing efforts on America's men and women who have served in the military. As part of this focus, SHRM has partnered with the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to further our outreach to SHRM members nationwide.

Whether serving our communities or our country, members of the National Guard and Reserve depend on their military units, families, and employers for support. Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency that seeks to promote a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflict through mediation.

During our September chapter meeting, Mary Lee Williams, Chapter President, signed the Statement of Support for the ESGR on behalf of the Northeast Tennessee Chapter of SHRM. Chick here to see the signed statement.

 

 

Human Resources Certification...PHR/SPHR/GPHR

Did you know that you can be reimbursed the $75.00 registration fee upon receiving certification this year?

The Northeast TN SHRM Board has approved that any chapter SHRM member that achieves certification this year, will receive a reimbursement of the $75.00 registration fee. That is just one more benefit of being a member of our chapter, and of SHRM.
